North Yorkshire Police, Fire and Crime Panel
23 April 2026
Annual
Report of the Police, Fire and Crime Panel 2025/26
2.0 An Annual Report is normally prepared for the Panel each year, providing a summary reflection of the Panel’s work and key outcomes from the municipal year. This stems from a historical request from the Home Office to report annually against grant spend relating to performance and budget. While this reporting requirement has now been re-focussed, it is considered good practice for scrutiny committees to undergo this exercise; to help reflect on business undertaken and planned and to help demonstrate the range of issues reviewed and rigour of those discussions to the wider public and partners. An Annual Report therefore continues to be prepared for the Panel each summer.
3.0 As North Yorkshire Council has agreed to receive a copy of the Panel’s Annual Report at its Council meeting each July, a draft of the Annual Report is being brought before Panel members on 23 April 2026 in order to receive approval in principle to the content and/or any further comments or suggestions prior to full Council on 15 July.
4.0 As we are still therefore in the early stages of a draft, information relating to the Panel budget in section 7 of the report has yet to be updated because the year-end return to the Home Office will not be completed until mid-May. An updated version of the report can therefore be circulated via email to Members with the final data in due course.
5.0 The finalised report will also be shared with City of York Council, to be circulated to its Members. A copy will also be placed, following full Council, on the North Yorkshire Partnerships website.
